Bernice King Stands Her Ground Against Same Sex Marriage

Bernice King, youngest child of the great Martin Luther King Jr., speaks out about her disbelief in same-sex marriage in the upcoming issue of Atlanta Magazine.

She, like many other closed minded individuals, believe marriage should only be between men and women. She also feels that MLK Jr. would have also been against it stating her father "did not take a bullet for same-sex marriage.”. It's funny that she feels this way because if you think about it he also didn't take the bullet for only "straight" people; Dr. King took a bullet for equality for everybody, whether they were black, white, gay, or straight. He was not one to discriminate.  

Even though Bernice King is against same-sex marriage she doesn't want the LGBT community to think she is the enemy because she feels that she isn't. In the magazine she stated:

"People have labeled me homophobic. If I was homophobic, I wouldn't have friends who are gay and lesbian, so that can't be true,". If in fact this is true then maybe she should re-examine her role as a "friend". How could you have friends that are gay and lesbian but don't think they should be treated equally and have the same rights as you? She also states that she "have love for everybody, period.", well I'm not seeing the love, period.

Nicki Minaj Speaks Out About Engagement

Just recently DJ Khaled professed his love for Nicki Minaj and asked for her hand in marriage on a video via MTV News, but now Nicki is finally speaking out on the video and engagement.

Despite being spotted out rocking what appears to be DJ Khaled's engagement ring, Nicki called into Funkm
aster Flex's radio show on Hot 97 sharing that Khaled's proposal was another publicity stunt.

“It was just another way for him to kinda give the world a glimpse on the feeling of this record,” Nicki stated  referring to the track her and Khaled have together. She then cleared up rumors of them having a romance period adding:

"Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, ya'll. Please let it go. He was kidding. He's not attracted to me, he doesn't like me. We're brother and sister."

Financial Troubles For DMZ

DMZ was jus released out of jail after he was accused of drunk driving now just days after being released he's filing for bankruptcy. X filed a Chapter 11 petition Monday at a Manhattan bankruptcy court. According to his petition, X has $1 million- $10 million worth of debt. He listed having assets amounting to less than $50,000. The rapper also owes $1.24 million in child support and over $21,000 on a auto lease. In his court papers X said his reason for filing was “to enable me to reorganize my financial affairs.”

Tyga Getting Sued By Video Vixens

Three video vixens, Alissa Rae Ross, Azia Davis, and Elizabeth Velasquez, are all suing Tyga after
the explicit version of the "Make It Nasty" video was released.

The vixens say the agreement for this video was that there would be no actual nudity involved in the video. They were told that those who were asked to be topless in select scenes would have their nipples covered in the video; they were also under the impression that the explicit video wasn't going to be released at all. But, since the explicit version has been released and their nipples weren't covered, they are suing Tyga for breach of contract surrounding the video, invasion of privacy, and fraud. It's also been reported that Elizabeth and Azia are suing for $10 million each!

Another Lawsuit For Chris Brown?

Apparently people still have a lot of anger towards Chris Brown because it seem like every time I turn around somebody is trying to sue him!

A girl by the name of Deanna Gines (shown on the right) just recently accused C.B of shoving her to the ground in Heat Ultra Lounge located in Anaheim. She claimed Chris was upset about something shortly after the bar was closing up and pushed her to the ground. She filed a police report and after going to the hospital she learned that she needs surgery. And of course she's filing a $25,000 lawsuit against him for her injuries.

                BUT...

According to the club owner, Chris never touched Gines.

Gines on the other hand was the out of control one and was the cause of her own injury! He stated that she was trying to get on the stage while Chris was performing then got mad and pushed him into his VIP section! Because of that, she was then removed from the club by security and "Chris was a complete gentleman".

Chris Brown Turning Himself In??

Chris Brown pled not guilty to the charge he received from his accident on May 12th. Now, this accident went from a simple fender bender to a "hit and run" case when the woman, in which he rear ended, claimed he refused to provide proof of insurance or driver's license.

But anywaysss.. Chris just pled not guilty to this charge, which he should have! Now, according to TMZ, since he wasn't taken into custody on the day of the accident he will now have to turn himself in, and he will have until August 6th to do that. He will then have another court date on August 15th.

The good news about this case is the charges of driving without proof of insurance and driving without a valid license have been dismissed! Let's hope he doesn't have to turn himself in though.

Finallyyy somebody other than me feels this star need help when it comes to her mental state of mind! According to many sources, Amanda Bynes has been taken into custody and hospitalized for mental evaluation after causing a fire in a driveway of a home in California. Unfortunately, she can only be on lockdown for 72hrs, soo I'm guessing we can be on the lookout for more wacky behavior from her.

Fan Snatches Beyonce's Hair!

During Mrs. Carter's show on Monday, in Montreal, she was performing her song "Halo" when her fan  decided that it didn't want to just cool her down, it wanted her to grab hold of her gorgeous hair!

Although she was in a crazy situation she kept calm as if her hair wasn't getting sucked up; she kept singing while security tried to untangle her hair from the vicious fan, and may I add she didn't miss a note while singing! Impressing!

I guess its safe to say she forgives the fan though; she later took to Instagram to joke about the situation:

Dwayne Wade's Ex-Wife Homeless or Money Hungry?!?

There's been a lot of drama between NBA star Dwayne Wade and his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches after their divorce, but now she's stirring up more drama as she sits in front of the Daley Center of Chicago holding signs claiming to be homeless! She just recently filed a lawsuit against Wade trying to get a piece of his endorsement money, but failed. Although she is the mother of their kids, she doesn't have custody of the two boys, Wade does. Oh and let's not forget Wade also shares his home with his beautiful girlfriend Gabrielle Union. Hmm jealousy? Could be. Many have been to the scene outside the Daley Center and have been sharing photos via Instagram so here they are..

Paparazzi Pressing Charges? Oh Yeezus!!

A cameraman (paparazzi) was taken to the hospital after Kanye West attacked him, and now he's reportedly pressing charges against the rapper stating he tried to rob him for his camera. However, the cameraman did exactly what Kanye asked the paparazzi not to do (a week prior), and that was talk to him.  If you haven't seen the TMZ video of the altercation check it out..

                               

My guess is, this all could have been avoided if the cameraman would've just kept quiet. Kanye is known for having a bad temper when it comes to the paparazzi invading his personal space so why do they keep putting theirselves in these types of situations with him I just don't understand! Just leave Kanye alone cause he clearly ain't the one to be messing with!

Paula Deen Fans Fighting Back With Butter?

Fans of Paula Deen have come together to campaign against the stores that dropped her after her use of the N-word became public. For this campaign, which is called "Butter for Paula", fans are encouraged to send wrappers from a stick of butter to the stores along with a message expressing their support for Deen. Apparently Deen launched her own line of butter before all the drama so I guess that explains them sending butter wrappers and not other things related to cooking. But stores let's not get mad at Paula when the butter wrappers start arriving, blame John Schmitt, a Paula Deen fan and hotel auditor in Indianapolis, for this buttery movement. He created a Facebook page entitled "We Support Paula Deen" which now has over  600,000 likes; That's a lot of butter!

"A corporation without Paula Deen is like a butter wrapper without butter," is the slogan for this campaign. Aw.. what a way to butter somebody up!

Down Goes Detroit

Detroit became the largest US city to file for bankruptcy, in history, today. They are more than $18 million in debt!! Gov. Rick Snyder stated, in a statement, “This is a difficult step, but the only viable option to address a problem that has been six decades in the making.” Snyder feels this is the only choice in order to restore the city and provide residents with public services that are necessary.

The state hired bankruptcy expert, Kevin Orr to lead Detroit out of their financial misery, but Orr was unable to convince the many creditors to take pennies on the dollar.

In a letter accompanying the federal filing, Snyder listed the city's ailments:
The unemployment rate has tripled since 2000
Homicide rate is at its highest in nearly 40 years
The residents wait an average of 58 minutes for police to respond to a call (the national average is 11 minutes).

If the filling is approved, the city's assets could be liquidated to meet demands for payment.

Sybrina Fulton: "I think (the legal system) failed Trayvon to a certain degree"

Many have been expressing their feelings and protesting against the trial and jury's decision to let Zimmerman walk as a free man, now Trayvon's parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, are finally speaking out about the verdict in an interview with Matt Lauer on Today.

It's been 5 days since the verdict and Trayvon's parents are "still shocked; still in disbelief".

"We thought that the killer of our unarmed child was going to be convicted of the crime that he committed." Martin stated. He even shares his thoughts on the jurors.

Also, the parents discusses forgiving George Zimmerman for wrongfully killing their son. Watch interview below:

I'm sad to say that if you wasn't at this event you missed out!! This is Coors Light's 3rd year doing this event but 1st time doing it here in Chicago, and from the looks of it, it was definitely a success. This event was designed to give up and coming MCs the opportunity to share their skills and give them a chance at winning $20,000. It also gives fans a chance to see some artists perform. The judges of this event is Ice Cube, DJ Drama, and Bun B, which all gave wonderful performances. But they weren't the only ones that performed last night; a few more artists shocked the crowd by hitting the stage and killing it. Those artists were Chicago's own, Twista, King Louie, Katie Got Bandz, Spenzo, and LEP. Then Big Sean hit the stage and shut it down! It was so many people that came out to this event; club V Live was PACKED last night! Everyone was so turned up; I had a good time there. Congrats to last night's winner as well.

After 8 long months, Twinkies are back! Twinkies are now on the shelves of many stores once again. But don't think its just the Twinkies that are making a comeback, be on the look out for the whole Hostess gang. Not sure if they will still taste the same though; Hostess is now under new ownership and their tasty snacks also experienced a dose of change with their new recipe. Good to know they're back, they've been missed dearly.

Trayvon's death not only touched many but it also brought many communities together. But the only way we all can stay together is if we start doing better. Many children die everyday because of senseless violence. It's sad that innocent kids can't even grown up to chase their dreams because people can't make the right decisions. NO parent should have to bury their child. Wake Up everybody.. It's time for a change.

No Justice No Peace!

Florida may have let Zimmerman off easy, but the "Justice For Trayvon" fight still continues around the world.  About 200 Chicagoans gathered in the Downtown area to protest against the jury's decision to let George Zimmerman walk as a free man after he shot and killed 17 year old Trayvon Martin. My Support and Prayers are with Trayvon's family.
